Day 1 :

Arrival and Transfer to Marangu Gate

Arrive in Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to Marangu Meet your guides and receive a briefing about the trek Check-in at your accommodation for the night Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in Marangu

Day 2 :

Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut

Altitude: 1,870 meters to 2,720 meters Distance: 8 km (5 miles) Time: 4-6 hours After breakfast, transfer to Marangu Gate and complete registration Begin trekking through montane forest to Mandara Hut Dinner and overnight stay at Mandara Hut

Day 3 :

Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

Altitude: 2,720 meters to 3,720 meters Distance: 12 km (7.5 miles) Time: 6-8 hours Trek through heath and moorland to Horombo Hut Enjoy views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks Dinner and overnight stay at Horombo Hut

Day 4 :

Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

Altitude: 3,720 meters to 4,703 meters Distance: 10 km (6.2 miles) Time: 6-8 hours Trek through the alpine desert to Kibo Hut Rest and prepare for the summit attempt Dinner and overnight stay at Kibo Hut

Day 5 :

Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut

Altitude: 4,703 meters to 5,895 meters (Uhuru Peak) then down to 3,720 meters Distance: 6 km (3.7 miles) ascent, 15 km (9.3 miles) descent Time: 10-14 hours Early morning start for the summit attempt Reach Gilman’s Point, then continue to Uhuru Peak Celebrate your achievement and take photos at the summit Descend to Horombo Hut for dinner and overnight stay

Day 6 :

Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate and Departure

Altitude: 3,720 meters to 1,870 meters Distance: 20 km (12.4 miles) Time: 5-7 hours Descend through the rainforest to Marangu Gate Receive your summit certificates Transfer back to your hotel in Marangu for a hot shower and rest Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in Marangu or transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for departure
